Lovely room, decorated really nice, coffee on breakfast excellent, very good value for money. Bus stop close outside so only 10 mins into centre. Would defiantly stay again

We really enjoyed our stay at the Original Raj Hotel. The location is perfect. From the airport, it is possible to arrive with the bus. The bus stop is very near to the hotel. The bus connections to the centre are very good.
We liked the design of the rooms. The rooms are very comfortable, large and clean. Breakfast is ok. We got all information we wanted at the reception. People are very friendly and helpful.
We surely would come again to this hotel and would recommend it to others.

Situated in Scotland's capital city, between Murrayfield and Haymarket train station
and just a 5 minute drive to the west end of Princes Street, the Original Raj Hotel
is a unique Scotland hotel. The UK's first Indian themed hotel, The Original Raj
Hotel was opened in spring 2000 and since then has offered a genuinely unique experience
in a convenient central location in Edinburgh at reasonable prices.
A delicious Continental breakfast is served each morning in the dining room, and
for other meals guests can order from the extensive menu of the well known Raj Restaurant
in Leith which was founded by Tommy Miah.
Rooms
The large Victorian house boasts 17 bedrooms, all en-suite and all furnished individually
with the decor, fabrics, furniture and objects carefully selected to evoke the atmosphere
and romance of India. The furniture is Indian hardwood and handmade in Jaipur from
recycled Australian railway sleepers.
All bedrooms are centrally-heated and featured bath and attached shower, Indian
canopy beds, hand-made Indian furniture and furnishings, TV, direct-dial telephone,
trouser press and tea and coffee making facilities.
Room types range from Deluxe Suites with a king-size Indian canopy bed and a spacious
lounge area and Family Rooms also with a king-size Indian canopy bed and two single
divan beds to Triple Room, Twin, Double and Single bedrooms.
Location
Situated in the famous Murrayfield area on the A8 which leads to Edinburgh Airport
and to Glasgow, near-by attractions include Edinburgh Zoo, Scottish National Gallery
of Modern Art, Dean Gallery and many other area attractions.
