A 19th century Victorian listed historic building that was converted into a hotel
in 1999, the 4 star Cluny Bank Hotel is located in the small, historic and attractive
town of Forres. Set in a quiet residential area that is within walking distance
of the town centre and the Forres Golf Course, Cluny Bank Hotel is an ideal hotel
to stay to play the excellent nearby golf courses – there are 13 within a 30 minute
drive. Cluny Bank Hotel offers a peaceful and tranquil retreat and the woodland
walks situated around the hotel are ideal for a relaxing walk. Retaining its original
Victorian features yet with modern facilities such as free WiFi, en-suite bathrooms
and an excellent restaurant serving quality modern Scottish Cuisine.
Rooms
With 10 individually and tastefully designed bedrooms, Cluny Bank Hotel offers a
choice of single, double, twin and triple accommodation. All rooms are en-suite,
have a colour TV and dvd player with access to a dvd collection, free WiFi internet
and i-pod docking station.
Every room has en-suite facilities were you will find a range of quality complimentary
toiletries from Penhaligons Blenheim Bouquet Range. We also supply a bale of fluffy
towels containing bath sheet, bath towel, hand towel and face cloth. For the comfort
of guests the entire hotel premises are now non-smoking.
Queen Betty - Double En-suite
Queen Betty is the master bedroom, a spacious double/twin room with a large bay
window overlooking the front of the hotel.
The room is equipped with tea/coffee making facilities, flatscreen LCD Television
with integrated freeview and DVD player and radio alarm clock with Ipod docking
station. The en-suite bathroom has a corner bath and seperate shower cubicle.
Fransina - Double En-suite
A spacious master bedroom and like the Queen Betty features a large bay window overlooking
the front of the hotel.
Garden Room - Double En-suite
Garden Room is a superior double/twin room with its own entrance on the outside
of the hotel.
The room is equipped with tea/coffee making facilities, flatscreen LCD Television
with integrated freeview and DVD player and radio alarm clock with Ipod docking
station. The ensuite bathroom has a bath with overhead shower.
Califer - Double En-suite
Califer is a superior double/twin bedroom with further single bed. This room is
equipped with tea/coffee making facilities, flatscreen LCD Television with integrated
freeview and DVD player and radio alarm clock with Ipod docking station. The ensuite
bathroom has a shower cubicle.
Lady Kathleen - Double En-suite
A superior room with a window looking into woods. Equipped with: tea/coffee making
facilities, flatscreen LCD Television with integrated freeview and DVD player and
radio alarm clock with Ipod docking station. There is a bathroom with shower.
King Cees - Double En-suite
Equipped with tea/coffee making facilities, Television and DVD player and radio
alarm clock with Ipod docking station. The en-suite bathroom has a shower.
Henderson - Single En-suite
A single room with windows looking out to the front of the hotel and hills beyond.
Equipped with: tea/coffee making facilities, Television and DVD player and radio
alarm clock with Ipod docking station. The ensuite bathroom has a bath and overhead
shower.
Robbie Burns - Single En-suite
Robbie Burns is a single room equipped with tea/coffee making facilities, television
and DVD player and radio alarm clock with Ipod docking station. It has an ensuite
wet room.
Restaurant
Franklin's Restaurant is the superb in-house restaurant at Cluny Bank Hotel producing
quality modern Scottish Cuisine and in 2008 it won the ‘Taste of Grampian Restaurant
of the Year 2008’ award. The food is prepared and cooked by the chef and owner of
the hotel who is passionate about his food and has been in the trade for 35 years.
There is an A La Carte menu with a choice of 5 or 6 starters and 7 or 8 main courses,
prepared using fresh and seasonal produce and changing on a fortnightly basis. All
meat, Scottish Wild Boar from Beaul and fish is supplied fresh and locally. The
south-facing dining room has a romantic and relaxing candle-lit atmosphere, complemented
by the open fire and creating a wonderful dining experience. There is also a Breakfast
Menu. The Lounge Bar has a pleasant atmosphere and is the perfect place to relax
and sample the range of 33 malt whiskys.
