Edinburgh

Edinburgh, Scotland
Edinburgh is the capital of Scotland, is steeped in history and one of the most beautiful cityscapes in the world which is bursting with culture. The second largest Scottish city, Edinburgh is located in the south-east of the country and is ideal for a family holiday, business trip or cultural indulgence alike.

With a UNESCO World Heritage Site at the heart of the city comprising of the medieval Old Town, the Georgian New Town and award winning modern architecture, Edinburgh is a mixture of styles and a fascinating city to wander around.

Explore Edinburgh at a leisurely pace (you can save the trekking and walking for the Highlands and countryside) and you’ll see numerous photo-worthy views, after all it is one of the most beautiful and elegant cities in Europe. Some of these views have to be seen to be believed: from Edinburgh castle across the Georgian New Town; from Arthur's Seat across the surrounding moors; and the most dramatic cityscape in Europe, from Calton Hill down the length of Princes Street to the castle. With plenty of parks and gardens, cliffs, rocks and grassy hills and even a few dormant volcanoes, Edinburgh’s landscape is surprisingly green and scenic.
