Heart of Scotland Airshow 2010
5th - 6th June 2010
The very first Scottish International Aviation Meeting was staged in 1910 at Lanark
and attracted over 200,000 people. Participants from the UK, American, France, Holland,
Switzerland, Italy and Peru made up the 22 participants but sadly Lanark no longer
has an airfield. Perth Airport will stage an event to celebrate this unique centenary
anniversary in Scotland's Aviation Heritage with the aim of attracting visitors
from home and abroad to make this celebration stand out as well as raising money
for charity. Perth Airport is only 1 hour from Edinburgh and Glasgow and conveniently
located for Perth, Dundee and Stirling.
To celebrate the centenary milestone in Scottish Aviation History and the 800th
birthday of the Royal Burgh of Perth as well as many other notable anniversaries,
the Heart of Scotland Airshow 2010 will be a 2-day spectacular of family fun over
the weekend of the 5th and 6th June 2010. The main theme will be 'flight' along
with other transport and military themes. Invitations have been extended to the
6 other countries, which took part in the 1910 event to send a representative to
the 2010 Heart of Scotland Airshow as well as our own Armed Forces who have strongly
supported this event in the past.
When: Saturday 5th June 2010 - Sunday 6th June 2010
