Worried that I would not get to the campsite in time to see the warden, I made it just in time. The warden was really nice about me being so close to closing and was helpful in pointing me to where to camp and find my stuff from the baggage transfer service. Facilities were good, though it would have been nice if there were showers as well. Cannot best the view and the price for which you get it!

Took my daughter this time back to bay 7 on the loch ( our favourite ). Great night with the fire bowl being a godsend in plummeting temperatures. For a wilder camping experience it can't be beat. You'll even be treated to a free fireworks display..see our video: https://youtu.be/_LWFMC1wMQ0

Site very clean and well maintained by the wardens who were friendly and helpful. Fire pits are a good size to keep you toasty in the cold nights and lots of logs are required to keep it burning for a few hours, purchase a good few bags or take your own wood as the wardens leave at 8pm and you cannot purchase any after they leave. We love Loch Lomond. xx

This is a great campsite - (tents only no caravans). There are toilets and running water (no showers) but perfect for the wild camping experience with some facilities. highly reccomend Loch side camping so you get a stunning view of the water and a bit more privacy. spent 2 nights here and wouldve happily spent a week.

The guard was very nice, and toilets/washing sink was clean. We decided to stay in main camp area instead of original lochside pitch. Was very wet and windy that night and woke up to a puddle underneath tent. Ground was uneven and patchy. Early up and away than planned.

Booked a Loch side did not use as pitches need cleaned up, pitched in the grass area which just looks like a poorly kept lawn no defined pitches. The surface is uneven hence the reason woke in a puddle as drainage is poor. Would be better pitches were defined and raise slightly and flat, cut the grass. Toilets were clean and serviced

My son and I stopped for a night on our way along the wet highland way. We camped on the loch side which is stunning. The ground there is extremely hard though, we had to borrow a mallet from another camper to get our pegs in. Fab site!

We stayed in September - the pitches beside the loch are lovely, and it is great to be able to have a campfire. The toilets/washing facilities are fairly basic, but do the job.

After a long days walk along the west highland way we finally arrived at the campsite, could 'check in' quickly and set up our tent. Afterwards we could enjoy our 'dinner' at the beach, surrounded by midges =). The composting toilet was suprisingly satisfactory and was able to help us with some equipment problems before walking on early in the morning.

We had a wonderful time on your campsite, it certainly is a beautiful spot and we will certainly be returning at some time in the future. We hired a fire pit which made our stay more enjoyable as going to sleep toasty warm is an added bonus. The only downside is that there is no hot water to wash pots and pans in but its not the end of the world =)

Second time camping at Sallochy. Last time being two years ago on a solo trip before heading to Ben Nevis. This time with my eight year old son before climbing Ben Lomond. I enjoyed the simplicity of the site on my first visit and felt it would be well situated for a morning walk up the Ben. We arrived and set up camp at our lovely Loch side pitch (2). A friendly and helpful service from the evening warden who arrived at 1630 and was knowledgable and informative about the local amenities. On her recommendation we ate at The Clansman in Rowardennan After a night of rain we cooked breakfast and packed up. Unfortunately there was no running water available to wash our breakfast pans and dishes. Also, we were informed by the evening warden that the morning warden would be at the site by 0730. This was not the case and as I had left a bank card as a deposit for a fire pit, our departure time was delayed by an hour. Despite these set backs it was an enjoyable stay,

I really enjoyed my stay, it was great to have a choice of space on the central pitch. The only thing that could have been better would be if there was shower facilities or a recommendation of somewhere showers might be available for use. Had it been a little warmer the Loch would probably be fine :)

Great campsite. Really nicely managed and very helpful staff on site between set times to assist. We camped as a family (2 Adult / 2 Children) and were keen to have some peace (i.e. not a large campsite with noise), so were delighted to be camping Loch-side and not in a crowded location. We had our own pebble beach. The toilet and water facilities were really clean and well maintained. Other campers were also very respectful of the beautiful surrounds - and mostly walkers carrying their own kit (so it is not a place for big parties - good thing for those after a peaceful site). Great site.
